HSBC Singapore ramps up next generation support with enhanced Premier Global Education proposition

  • End-to-end support to help Premier clients seamlessly plan, prepare and protect their children’s overseas education journey
  • Exclusive access to next-gen development and networking programmes, including the British Chamber of Commerce’s Student CEO Experience
  • Introduction of S$25,000 HSBC Scholarship for an eligible Singapore-based student studying in the UK, in collaboration with the British Council

HSBC Singapore (“HSBC”) today announced enhancements to the Premier Global Education proposition to help families navigate their children’s overseas education journey, including preparing the next generation for global opportunities.

The enhanced proposition brings together financial planning and cross-border connectivity across HSBC’s international network with access to expert education advisory through a global network of partners. Drawing on HSBC’s expertise in engaging the next generation of high-net-worth families, HSBC Premier Global Education also offers clients’ children exclusive access to leadership, development and networking opportunities to help the next generation build real-world perspectives.

This includes the British Chamber of Commerce’s Student CEO Experience, a five-day immersion programme that offers students aged 17-21 a behind-the-scenes look at how leading organisations operate through company visits and interactions with senior leaders. The HSBC-sponsored programme will be offered exclusively to Premier clients this year at no cost.

As part of its broader commitment to supporting next generation educational opportunities, HSBC has partnered with the British Council to introduce the HSBC Scholarship for UK study. Funded by HSBC, the scholarship will provide S$25,000 in financial support to an eligible Singapore-based student pursuing undergraduate studies in the UK.

End-to-end privileges across HSBC’s international network

Designed to support every stage of the overseas education journey, the enhanced proposition offers Premier clients end-to-end privileges across university pathway planning, applications, accommodation, insurance and travel-, delivered via HSBC’s global network of partners.

It builds on HSBC’s existing cross-border capabilities for Premier clients – including the ability to open bank accounts in their destination country before arrival, share Premier privileges with immediate family overseas through HSBC Premier Family, and view and transfer funds across markets with zero fees through HSBC’s Global View and Global Money Transfer features – with enhanced privileges across key stages of the journey:

  • PLAN | Education planning and admissions support: Access to specialist admissions and education support through HSBC’s network of partners, including Crimson Education, InGenius Prep, AUG Student Services, TheRightU, BE Education and Ed-SG. Privileges span from personalised guidance on pre-tertiary and tertiary pathways to profile building and admissions preparation, as well as access to local and international summer programmes, private seminars and university fairs.
  • PREPARE | Financial planning and international banking: In-house advisory to help families plan for overseas education expenses as part of their broader wealth plans. Families can also access preferential foreign exchange rates and receive rewards on eligible overseas education credit card spend.
  • PROTECT | Support for studying and living overseas: Access to accommodation and relocation support across key study destinations through HSBC’s network of global partners, discounted Global Study Insurance and travel benefits including airport lounge access, limousine transfers and companion ticket offers with Singapore Airlines.

Supporting international ambitions

This enhancement comes as international student mobility continues to rise, with UNESCO data reporting a more than 3X increase in the number of students studying abroad globally since 2000 to 7.3 million today.1 The UK remains a leading destination, particularly for students in Singapore. According to the British High Commission, more than 7,500 Singaporeans will be studying in the UK this autumn, representing a 40% share of Singapore undergraduates going overseas.2 The Oxford Admissions Report 2026 also ranked Singapore as a top non-UK contributor to admissions, behind only China.3

Ashmita Acharya, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking, HSBC Singapore, said: “An overseas education is one of the most significant investments a family can make in their children’s future, and it’s a journey that extends well beyond admissions to funding, travel and on-the-ground integration. Our enhanced Global Education proposition simplifies this journey end-to-end, leveraging the strength of our international network to help them navigate the spectrum of international needs while empowering their next-gen’s overseas ambitions – all through a single Premier relationship.”

The Global Education proposition builds on HSBC’s continued enhancement of its Premier proposition in Singapore across wealth, health, international and lifestyle to support affluent needs across markets, generations and life stages. Following the opening of its fourth and largest wealth centre at Singapore Land Tower, the Bank announced the launch of Singapore’s first bank-led integrated health, wellness and longevity proposition under Premier earlier this year.

HSBC was named Singapore’s Best International Bank at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026.
