HSBC Singapore CEO, Wong Kee Joo, along with LPGA golfers Shannon Tan and Lauren Coughlin, visited Trybe’s facilities ahead of the tournament to meet with seven youths participating in the charity’s programmes. They shared personal experiences dealing with obstacles and adversity.
“We’re excited to support Trybe and their impactful work,” said Wong Kee Joo. “Through our collaboration, we aim to empower these young individuals, helping them unlock opportunities for a brighter future. Our partnership is more than just financial – it’s about creating meaningful connections that last beyond the tournament.”
Shannon Tan, Singaporean LPGA golfer added, “It’s incredibly inspiring to be part of this partnership with Trybe. As athletes, it’s important for us to use our platform to support causes that make a real difference in the community. I hope our visit and support will encourage these young people to keep pursuing their goals, no matter what obstacles they face.”
Lauren Coughlin, LPGA golfer, added, “It’s been an honour to be part of this meaningful partnership with Trybe. The work they do is truly inspiring, and I’m grateful to be able to contribute, even in small ways, to the lives of these young people. Helping others is one of the best ways to make a difference.”
Trybe CEO, Vimel Rajoo also added, “We are very grateful for this meaningful engagement, which has been inspiring for our youths and our team. This reminds us why partnerships like the one we have with HSBC matter so much. This partnership has added energy and joy to our work. But beyond the fun, what truly excites us is HSBC’s commitment to making a long-lasting impact by creating opportunities for youths facing adversities – those who may not have the same access to resources as others. Through partnerships like this, we look forward to making a larger impact on the lives of young people and the community.”
The visit also included a tour of Trybe’s facilities for its Counselling and Therapy Service programme, supported by HSBC, and the presentation of gift hampers to the youths in attendance. HSBC is further supporting Trybe through its “Play it Forward” digital golf game, where participants can help raise funds for Trybe by playing a mobile golf game, with HSBC donating $3 for every shot taken.
Two of Trybe’s youths in the Building Eco-Systems programme will also be offered project-based work surrounding the HSBC Women’s World Championship, while further potential internship opportunities are being explored.
