HSBC launches Wealth Academy to support Singapore’s next phase of wealth
HSBC today announced the launch of its Wealth Academy (‘The Academy’) in Singapore, a world-class learning programme designed to elevate advisory capabilities and service excellence across multiple touchpoints. The Academy is part of a global rollout across 16 markets as the bank steps up investment into equipping frontline teams with future-ready skills, to support increasingly complex and international wealth needs. The programme features a bespoke transformative learning experience developed in collaboration with the prestigious London Business School, which is world-renowned for its executive education programmes.
To support the holistic development of its frontline teams, HSBC Singapore has additionally inked an agreement with the Singapore Airlines Academy to further strengthen service excellence and client experience skills.
All relationship managers and wealth advisors in Singapore are expected to undergo training in the Wealth Academy by 2026.
Supporting Singapore’s next phase of wealth
The initiative comes as Singapore continues to attract significant international wealth flows. According to the HSBC Affluent Investor Snapshot 2025, affluent investors globally are increasingly looking beyond their home markets to grow and diversify their wealth, with Singapore emerging as their top choice in Asia to open an overseas investment account.1
As more clients manage assets across multiple markets, the role of trusted professional advice remains critical. The research shows that in Singapore, 65% of affluent investors prioritise professional financial guidance from bank relationship managers and wealth specialists when making investment decisions, despite having access to digital tools and other resources.
Building future-ready frontline capabilities
The new Wealth Academy is designed to meet this shift by equipping frontline teams with deeper technical knowledge and client-engagement capabilities to deliver seamless, intuitive and insight-led wealth expertise. It will complement existing learning programmes to equip frontline teams with the skills and expertise to deliver a world-class customer experience, including advanced portfolio strategies and behavioral insights.
It also supports self-pacing and targeted career development for frontline teams through a structured learning pathway that is integrated into three pillars:
- Wealth Knowledge Hub – a digital curriculum covering foundational to advanced wealth concepts, enabling advisors to build on core technical knowledge
- Wealth Live Learning – immersive, facilitated learning through face-to-face and virtual sessions with global experts focused on topics including client engagement, product knowledge, and risk and controls.
- Wealth Excellence – aspirational development pathways for selected participants, delivered in collaboration with global partners, focusing on advanced advisory, leadership and service excellence.
Advanced learning with London Business School
Under the Wealth Academy, HSBC wealth advisors and relationship managers in Singapore will have access to advanced learning developed in collaboration with London Business School, bringing global perspectives, academic rigour and best-in-class thinking into the Academy’s curriculum.
The London Business School partnership focuses on strengthening strategic advisory capabilities, that will empower frontline teams to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
Elevating service excellence with the Singapore Airlines Academy
To complement the technical curriculum, HSBC Singapore is also collaborating with the Singapore Airlines Academy to equip frontline teams with future-ready soft skills to deliver exceptional client experiences. Drawing on practices widely regarded as a global benchmark, the collaboration will co-create a service excellence framework tailored to HSBC’s wealth context, client expectations and frontline realities.
Commenting on the launch, Ashmita Acharya, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking, HSBC Singapore said:
“Singapore is one of the world’s leading wealth hubs and our clients here expect deep expertise and seamless, elevated experiences that meet them where they are. In a complex and competitive wealth management landscape, our people will always be our key differentiators, and the launch of the Wealth Academy reflects our long-term commitment to developing a future-ready frontline that can support clients with confidence and insight.
As client needs become more global and interconnected, trusted advisory and service excellence are deeply connected to the quality of judgment, empathy and experience our teams bring to every interaction. By partnering with leading, globally recognised partners like London Business School and the Singapore Airlines Academy, we are bringing world-class learning to our frontline’s fingertips, strengthening the capabilities that will support the next phase of wealth growth in Singapore.”
