HSBC Asset Management appoints Pang Qi LIM

HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM) announces that it has appointed Pang Qi Lim as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Southeast Asia and Singapore, subject to regulatory approval. In addition to his CEO responsibilities for HSBC AM in Singapore, Pang Qi will also assume the role of Head of Strategic Partnerships Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, Pang Qi will join HSBC AM on 14 November. He will report to Daisy Ho, Chief Executive Officer Asia Pacific and Hong Kong, HSBC Asset Management, and to Ashmita Acharya, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking Singapore, HSBC.

Pang Qi will be responsible for leading the delivery of HSBC AM’s strategic growth ambitions in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region. In addition to growing the firm’s client base as well as building and enhancing strategic partner relationships, he will focus on defining and leading the execution of the sales and distribution strategy for HSBC AM in Singapore and Southeast Asia markets.

Pang Qi has extensive knowledge of and experience in the asset management industry in Singapore and Southeast Asia. He joins us from Fidelity International where he most recently led the business development for Client Solutions and Services business in Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he was the Asia Business Lead for Strategic Initiatives where he was responsible for expanding the firm's Asset Management Services business and private asset platform partnership initiatives. During his first decade with Fidelity, Pang Qi held a number of senior distribution roles that supported the growth of the firm’s intermediary business with key financial institutions in Singapore. He also played an integral role in establishing new distribution markets in Southeast Asia including Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. Before joining Fidelity, Pang Qi had worked at Standard Chartered Bank and Fortis Private Bank.

Pang Qi succeeds Patrice Conxicoeur, CEO and Head of Southeast Asia, who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside of HSBC.
